October 29, 2007 - eHealth Ohio in conjunction with the Health Policy Institute of Ohio invites you to attend:

 

“Putting the Pieces Together with OHHIT” - The Third Annual Statewide Conference for Health Information Technology.

This conference will focus on the evolution of Health Information Technology in the State of Ohio. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and actively participate in the Ohio Health Information Strategic Plan (OHISP). OHISP is a statewide effort to assemble the pieces of the national health information technology puzzle into a fully integrated health information system for Ohio. Specific focus will be given to the current progress of the HISPC and NHIN contracts.

 

Pieces to the National HIT puzzle:

* NHIN/RHIO – Nationwide Health Information Network/Regional Health Information Organization;

* Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration;

* HITSP – Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel;

* CCHIT – Certification Commission on Health Information Technology;

* EHR/EMR/PHR – Electronic Health Record, Electronic Medical Record, Patient Health Record;

* CCR – Continuity of Care Record;

* Other evolving standards

 

Keynote Speaker

 

Holt Anderson, Executive Director, North Carolina Health Information Communication Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA).

Mr. Anderson is a nationally recognized authority and pioneer in community-based health information technology, policy and practices. NCHICA is a private, nonprofit consortium of healthcare providers, payers, corporate partners, professional associations and government agencies. It's mission is to improve healthcare in North Carolina by accelerating the adoption of information technology.

 

Holt is on the Advisory Councils for the IBM Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) Architecture Prototype Contract with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the RTI Privacy and Security Contract for AHRQ and ONC. He serves on the Executive and Steering Committees and a Co-chair of the Regional Affiliates Work Group for WEDI, the Working Group for Connecting Communities for the eHealth Initiative, and the Advisory Council for the North Carolina Center for Nursing. He is a consultant to the Quality of Care and Performance Improvement Committee of the North Carolina Medical Society.

 

He previously has served on the Steering Committee for the NC Immunization Registry and the Boards for the Southern Technology Council, the Computer-based Patient Records Institute (CPRI), and was a Governor’s appointee to the Southern Governors’ Association Task Force on Medical Technology. He served on the Social & Ethical Issues Task Force for North Carolina Vision 2030 and a Legislative Study Commission for Digitization of the State Archives.

 

Holt is a graduate of Duke University.
